Every model checked. Every finding tracked.
We check that BIM models and documents meet the client's information requirements, using custom checking scripts, reports and a dashboard for each supplier.
BIM verification and validation checks the quality of models and documents before they are used to decide, tender or build. It covers geometry, information content, consistency between disciplines and compliance with the Exchange Information Requirements and the BIM Execution Plan.
BIMON's method is based on in-house software and automations (scripts) that can be customized for each analysis and for the object being analyzed. The scripts compare the model's progress with the BIM Execution Plan and the UNI 11337 standard. On Maximall Pompeii we verified and validated the structural model of the detailed design in RVT format, protecting the client on the quality of content and geometry.
For the King Faisal Air Academy in Riyadh BIMON managed the validation of more than 100 buildings, including the MEP discipline in the detailed design, construction and as-built phases, plus inspection of models and shop drawings. Each supplier receives an interactive dashboard with the detected non-conformities, resolution priorities and the model quality trend. The report updates with each cycle and keeps a trace of previous checks.
The service is for owners and public clients receiving models from several designers, for general contractors inheriting third-party models and for anyone who has to formally accept an information delivery.
How we work
- 1
Checking rules
We translate the information requirements and BIM Execution Plan into checkable rules.
- 2
Automated checks
We run the scripts on models and documents at each delivery, with manual checks where needed.
- 3
Reports and dashboards
We publish non-conformities, priorities and an overall assessment, with guidelines for reading the results.
- 4
Next cycle
We re-check the corrections and track quality trends over time.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between verifying and validating a BIM model?+
Verification checks individual aspects: geometry, parameters, naming, clashes. Validation is the overall judgement on whether the model is fit for purpose against the information requirements. Our reports document both, with a final outcome.
Which standards does the checking follow?+
On the project's contractual requirements: the Exchange Information Requirements and the BIM Execution Plan. In Italy the reference is UNI 11337; internationally, the ISO 19650 series. BIMON's scripts are configured on these rules and on the client's company standards.
Can you validate models produced by others?+
Yes, that is the most common case. On the King Faisal Air Academy BIMON validated models from several suppliers; on Maximall Pompeii, the structural models provided by the client. A third-party checker protects the owner on delivery quality.
