Integrating tech innovation at every project phase.

The digital twin of your assets made simple.

An Asset Digital Twin is the digital replica of a building or infrastructure in operation, connected to its real data. It enables remote monitoring, predictive maintenance and optimization of asset performance throughout the life cycle.

By analyzing data from sensors embedded in the asset, it detects anomalies, predicts failures and recommends maintenance actions. It improves operational efficiency, reduces downtime and supports asset and portfolio management.

At Prato hospital, 540 beds managed by Pizzarotti for 25 years, BIMON created the digital model of the building and all its MEP systems and connected it to the hospital's management system to cut energy consumption and maintenance work.

What you get

Predictive maintenance

Artificial intelligence algorithms read BMS and sensor data and flag failures before they happen.

Energy savings

Comparing actual consumption with expected performance points out waste and settings to correct, as on the Prato hospital project.

A digital asset that is easy to manage

Accurate as-is BIM models, with classified systems and components, become the single archive for facility management.

Readable data across the portfolio

Custom dashboards and Business Intelligence, like the one created for MIND, make data from different buildings and plots comparable.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a BIM model and a digital twin?+

A BIM model describes the building: geometry, components, technical information. A digital twin connects that model to live operational data from the BMS, IoT sensors and maintenance systems, and updates over time. BIM is the starting point; the digital twin puts it to work.

Can you build a digital twin of an existing building that has no BIM model?+

Yes. The starting point is a laser scan survey and Scan to BIM modeling of the existing state; operational data are connected afterwards. This is how BIMON digitizes existing buildings, such as the areas surveyed for Aeroporti di Roma at Fiumicino.

Which systems connect to an asset digital twin?+

Typically the building BMS, IoT sensors and maintenance management systems. At Prato hospital the digital model was integrated with IoT and BMS data and piped into a data platform, where AI algorithms support predictive maintenance and energy savings.

Who benefits from an asset digital twin?+

Owners, operators and concessionaires who run an asset for many years: project-financed hospitals, airports, campuses, large office and mixed-use complexes. The longer the operating period, the more the collected data are worth.
